Data Governance

Data Governance is the process of establishing and managing information about the data collected and used by the University.  All enterprise data accessible via dataND is subject to this process.  This ensures a common and consistent understanding of what data exists, term definitions, availability, sensitivity classification and access restrictions.

Governance also provides a foundation from which data quality can be evaluated and improved.

A committee determines the usage and restrictions placed upon ND data.  This group is facilitated by the Campus Data Steward who works with appointed data stewarding representatives across the university.
